Hi everybody (*insert The Simpsons reference here*),
I wanted to give everyone an update as there have been a few changes that have happened, with a few more coming up in the next few weeks
Website and research
Hopefully, you will have all visited youngadultsarfid.com by now (if not, go and have a look-see... it's had a small makeover), and you will have seen 'Project Globus', which is our first piece of research. Statistics are there too. We also asked for feedback, and some changes are coming in, such as...
More face-to-face meetups
Launch of our book club (more on this in a minute)
A buddy scheme
Meetups
Over the last few months, individuals from the zoom calls have met up with each other face to face, experienced each other's culture and even had food and drinks together! These experiences change lives and turn the 'I wonder if anyone else has ARFID' thought into 'this person in front of me has ARFID... OMG'. We want to keep this going and, as such, are planning on more face-to-face meetups.
Book Club
We are finally ready to put our Book Club into action. For those interested in this, a survey will be sent out over the next few days to figure out timings for the calls to go ahead. Your email will be collected when you complete the survey, and we will keep you informed about what's to come.
We hope this is a pretty sizable update - we have big things planned for Young Adults with ARFID. Keep changing the narrative and remember, we are always here if you should ever need us!
Stay amazing,
Jay Parrack
